Slytherin Alumni Gone Wild?
Behavior displayed at Slytherin Vs. Hufflepuff Game Questionable
by Janet Magsley, HEx Reporter

The first game of the season between the Badgers and the Snakes was, as usual, eventful, but also marked by an unusual show put on by none other than the esteemed school governor, Lucius Malfoy, and his son, Draco. The pair were seen donning the colours of Slytherin House in quite conspicuous fashion…including in their hair and on their faces. However, it was not their attire that caught the attention of many during the game. Malfoy wore a hat that was made out of a snack popular to the spectator crowd known as ‘nachos,’ which appeared to supply themselves from the hat. Draco Malfoy, the governor’s son, had a hat that provided the wearer with beer, causing his behaviour later in the game to become increasingly inhibited. The pair spit crumbs of their half-consumed food on other Slytherin Quidditch supporters as they yelled at the athletes mid-play, showing quite a different side from their usual aloofness to the general Hogwarts student body. Although the acts witnessed at the game were uncharacteristic of the respected governor and his offspring, it amounts to simply being the product, perhaps, of needing a day to ‘let one’s hair down’ and show some support for a House that they both had once belonged to.

Seen with the duo was Calypso Montgomery, Slytherin Sixth Year, who was rather chummy with D. Malfoy. Rumour has it that Montgomery is a relation of sorts to the governor and the trio were spending a day together laying back and relaxing in the October sunshine in true pureblood fashion. Perhaps the Malfoy family missed the games after Draco graduated…it isn’t every game that is graced with the presence of such high company. It is the first time in many a Slytherin’s lifetime that he has been seen outside of his office, which is held under lock and key and only allows entry with appointments. His presence there was a magnet for Raul Duke, who purchased the hat mid-game, and Dusky Pidlerson, who flew at the Governor and appeared to try and take some of the nachos before being shooed away.

In the end, the beer and nachos spectacle seen in the Slytherin stands is one sure not to be forgotten anytime soon. A new style of sportsmanship has been set this season at Hogwarts!
